Prince Harry has been told to "book a Holiday Inn" by a commentator after he lost his chance to stay at Buckingham Palace during his upcoming UK trip. The Duke of Sussex, who quit royal life in 2020, is set to arrive in London tomorrow, but his accommodation plans have been thrown into disarray.
Invitation Withdrawn After Delay
On Monday, Prince Harry's team announced that the duke had accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace this week. However, moments after this was made public, the Palace stated that Harry would no longer be staying there. According to reports, the prince took too long to accept the invitation, and arrangements could no longer be made. The 41-year-old is now without a confirmed place to stay.
Commentator's Blunt Suggestion
US political commentator Link Lauren, who has been critical of Harry and Meghan in the past, took to X to voice his opinion. Lauren wrote: "Good! Enough! Harry is a spoilt brat who’s done nothing but try to destroy the Royal Family for six years running. There’s a Holiday Inn in London. He should book a room fast. High season!"
Changes to Family Visit
Harry was originally expected to arrive in the UK with his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. This would have been the first time the family of four had been together in the UK since 2022. However, after it was revealed that Harry would not receive armed police protection on his upcoming visit, those plans changed. Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Harry would be in London solo. It is not known if his family will join him elsewhere in Britain after his London engagements.
Accommodation Options
While Harry has visited the UK many times over the last few years and has stayed in non-royal residences, it is unlikely he will find it difficult to find somewhere to stay. Options could include staying with a friend, a distant relative, or in a luxurious hotel. The duke's team has not yet commented on alternative arrangements.
