The 34-year-old London art gallery owner, often dubbed the 'Princess of Soho', has tied the knot with indie musician and artist Daniel Vildósola, also 34, in Sin City last weekend. India Rose James, whose £329 million inheritance once made her richer than the Queen, celebrated her marriage with a hedonistic few days of partying, gambling, and an extravagant Western-themed celebration.
The Wedding and Honeymoon
For the ceremony, India wore a glittering mini-dress adorned with playing cards, hearts, and a dog motif, a nod to the couple's beloved Brussels griffon dogs, Lilith and Smaug. She paired it with a feather-trimmed white robe and matching marabou heels. Dan channeled Elvis in a cream denim jacket, dark patterned shirt, black jeans, a giant belt buckle, cowboy boots, and sunglasses. The couple later checked into Amangiri, a luxury desert resort in Utah favored by celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner, where suites can cost up to £8,600 per night for their honeymoon.
Pre-Wedding Festivities
The day before the wedding, India enjoyed a raucous hen do at a casino, wearing a white crop top, jeans, and a veil with 'Bride' on her headband. Photos shared on social media show her at a roulette table with her father, John, as chips piled up. Another image captured India with her sister Fawn, brother Harvey, and father in a Bellagio-style lobby, with the caption: 'We lost Soho on a bad hand of blackjack' – a cheeky reference to the family's vast Soho property empire.
The Couple's Story
India and Dan, who got engaged in a New York tattoo parlour last year, had long planned their Vegas knees-up as a precursor to a more traditional wedding in England later this year. They met through mutual friends on the London art scene and were friends for years before romance blossomed on the dating app Raya. Things turned serious during a 2023 road trip across America, when India met Dan's large family in Tucson, Arizona. Dan proposed in a Manhattan tattoo parlour, having the words 'Will you marry me' inked onto his arm, which he revealed to India while sitting in the tattoo chair.
India's Background
India is the reformed wild-child granddaughter of the late property magnate and pornography publisher Paul Raymond, the so-called 'King of Soho' who was once Britain's richest man. When he died in 2008, India and her half-sister Fawn inherited a large chunk of his property empire, including freeholds across Soho. At age 16, India was handed a £329 million fortune, making her the youngest person ever to appear on The Sunday Times Rich List at the time. The sisters' combined wealth has since been listed at over £700 million. Despite her privilege, India insists she is not a 'nepo baby', telling The Times recently that the inheritance gave her a 'leg up' but that she built her gallery herself. She founded Soho Revue in 2015, championing emerging and female artists. India celebrated seven years of sobriety in March, having checked into a 12-step programme when her daughter, Saffi, was a toddler. She shares nine-year-old Sapphire with her former fiancé, The Kooks guitarist Hugh Harris.
