Noah Syndergaard Fires Back at Alex Cooper, Says He Lives 'Rent Free in Her Head'
Syndergaard Fires Back at Alex Cooper Over Feud

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Noah Syndergaard has reignited his ongoing feud with ex-girlfriend Alex Cooper, the host of the popular podcast "Call Her Daddy." During a recent appearance on Outkick's "Tomi Lahren is Fearless" podcast, Syndergaard claimed that he still occupies Cooper's thoughts nearly a decade after their relationship ended.

A Brief Romance

Syndergaard and Cooper began dating in 2017 while he was playing for the New York Mets. The couple was spotted kissing at a Knicks game amidst their on-again, off-again romance. However, the relationship fizzled out by the end of that year. In December 2017, Syndergaard posted on Twitter (now X): "Baseball is my significant other," accompanied by the hashtag "focus."

Cooper's Cheap Shot

Six years after their breakup, Cooper took a dig at Syndergaard during an episode of her podcast. Referring to his struggles to secure a new team in MLB free agency, she said: "He can’t get a f***ing contract. It’s not that I look [at MLB news], people just send me this s***."

Syndergaard's Response

Now, Syndergaard has finally responded to Cooper's remarks. "I haven’t spoken to her in eight years or so," he said. "So, I guess I continue to live rent free in her head. I don’t really know. Cheap shot, but she’s entitled to her own opinion and freedom of speech so I can’t really control what comes out of her mouth. It doesn’t really bother me. It’s kind of comical, but whatever."

When host Tomi Lahren suggested that Cooper has "changed a lot" since their relationship, Syndergaard interrupted: "Not really." However, he declined to elaborate further, stating: "I don't want to get into it. I don’t want to kick the hornets nest any more than I have."

Current Status

Syndergaard, now 33, revealed that he is currently in a relationship but prefers to keep it "under wraps." He last played in the major leagues with the Cleveland Guardians before being released in 2023. He was also cut by the Chicago White Sox in August of the same year following a stint in the minor leagues. Cooper, meanwhile, married film producer Matt Kaplan in April 2024.
