MasterChef Australia Eliminates Lucy Mansfield in Cabbage Challenge
MasterChef Australia Eliminates Lucy Mansfield

MasterChef Australia bid farewell to another budding cook during Wednesday's elimination. Lucy Mansfield was sent home after her cabbage dish failed to impress the judges during an intense pressure test. Guest judge, Chef Rosheen Kaul, had tasked the contestants with recreating her famous Savoy Cabbage Chou Farci, a luscious meal featuring cabbage leaves stuffed with sticky rice, morels, garlic shoots, and zucchini.

Lucy, 24, gave her best attempt at the dish but fell short. While her presentation was on point, some elements required further cooking. Judge Poh Ling Yeow commented, 'Your dish looked stunning and it was beautifully assembled, but unfortunately your cabbage and your morels were undercooked.'

Despite the setback, Lucy was gracious in defeat, describing her run on MasterChef Australia as 'the best experience ever.' She expressed her gratitude, saying, 'Every time I step into this kitchen, I feel so, so lucky to be here, and to be cooking for you guys. I feel so grateful and lucky to have met all of you and I will miss you guys so much.'

Her co-star Annabel Lloyd was visibly emotional, breaking down in tears over Lucy's words. Annabel shared how they had grown close during the competition, stating, 'Lucy has become one of my best friends, from hours of making each other laugh.'

Lucy reflected on her journey, saying, 'I would've loved to stay a bit longer, but I'm really happy with my effort today. It has ignited something in me, that I could do something as cool as this. And I'm so excited to see what opens up from here. You know, no regrets.'

Lucy is the second contestant sent home this week, following Kanika Gadyok, who was eliminated on Monday night. Kanika's challenge involved creating an international dish with a hero ingredient, and she chose corn. The 35-year-old attempted to prepare the kitchen staple in two different ways, but both dishes failed to wow the judges. Despite her disappointment, Kanika vowed to continue her culinary journey after the competition, expressing that she 'loved everything' about her MasterChef experience.
