The Cannes Film Festival witnessed a dazzling display of star power on Wednesday night as supermodels Bella Hadid and Heidi Klum graced the premiere of La Bataille de Gaulle, L'Age de Fer.
Bella Hadid's Daring Ensemble
Bella Hadid, 29, led the stars on the red carpet in a stunning white lace mermaid gown that plunged daringly to her navel. The model went braless in the dress, which was held together by a single black brooch. The multi-layered gown featured a moderate train, and Bella required assistance as she navigated the steps in the form-fitting design. She waved to the crowd and posed alongside Caroline Scheufele.
Heidi Klum's Elegant Look
Heidi Klum, 52, wowed attendees in a blue gown with a dramatic thigh-high split, paired with black heels. She was accompanied by her husband, Tom Kaulitz, 36, as they posed for photos on the red carpet.
Other Notable Appearances
Bar Refaeli, 40, dazzled in a strapless bejewelled dress, slicking her hair back in a high bun to let the beaded gown take centre stage. Actress Ruth Wilson, 44, commanded attention in a pink satin floral gown with voluminous sleeves, posing alongside Maika Monroe. Jaya Harper caught the eye in a pinstripe gown with pointed black heels, joined by Laura Dern, Bruce Dern, and Ellery Walker Harper.
Zara McDermott's Defiant Appearance
Former Love Island star Zara McDermott made a defiant appearance after becoming the victim of a vicious AI deepfake campaign. The reality star, currently in a relationship with One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, was pictured accepting a platonic kiss from Joey Essex at a recent event, which sparked cheating rumours and led to an unsavoury online deepfake. Despite the drama, Zara graced the red carpet in a plunging white gown with a dramatic train. Earlier, she enjoyed the sunshine in a Muma World Midori Stellio minidress and a Dolce & Gabbana Lucia shoulder bag.
About the Film
La Bataille de Gaulle, L'Age de Fer is the first part of a two-part biographical film directed by Antonin Baudry, co-written with Bérénice Vila. Based on Julian Jackson's nonfiction book A Certain Idea of France: The Life of Charles De Gaulle, the film stars Simon Abkarian as Charles de Gaulle. It had its world premiere at Cannes and will be released theatrically in France by Pathé on 10 June.
Cannes Film Festival Jury
This year's jury includes Demi Moore, director Chloé Zhao, actor Stellan Skarsgård, and others, with South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook as president. Moore expressed her honour at being a juror, stating she feels like 'a little kid getting to play a grown-up.' The festival will also honour filmmaker Peter Jackson with a Palme d'Or for his body of work. The event runs from May 12 to 23.
