Emily Atack Confirms September Wedding to Alistair Garner

Emily Atack has officially revealed her wedding date, confirming she will marry Dr Alistair Garner this September. The 36-year-old Rivals star shared the news after her mother, actress Kate Robbins, 67, previously hinted that the big day would occur later this year.

Three-Day Celebration in September

Speaking about the wedding planning, Emily said: "I think I've nailed it. We're getting married in September. I've very much enjoyed the planning process. Choosing napkins and stuff. I'm like, 'My God, my life is here!'" The couple is considering a destination wedding in Spain, a country Emily holds dear. "I loved my family holidays there when I was growing up. We had a property there, and my dad sold it a couple of years ago, but it's our favourite place, and we still go every year," she previously explained.

Engagement and Family Life

Emily and scientist Alistair, 40, announced their engagement in July last year, nearly 12 months after welcoming their son Barney in June 2024. The couple have known each other since childhood, with Alistair's late father having been married to Emily's aunt. They reconnected as adults after a 12-year gap and began dating in 2022.

Motherhood and Self-Discovery

In a recent interview with Luxury London magazine, Emily opened up about how becoming a mother has helped her understand herself better. "I think it's helped me understand who I am as a person and what I like about myself. I don't want to change too much; I want to enhance those things so that I can be the best possible mum to Barney," she said.

Dealing with Fame

The actress also addressed the pressures of fame, admitting that celebrity life comes with challenges. "There seems to be a bit of a blurred line about what people think you should expect when you're famous. I've developed a very thick skin, but there have been days when I just wanted to pull the duvet over my head. I'm still a human being, yeah? Things hurt me," she shared. However, she embraces her status: "I feel like 'famous' has become a dirty word. People don't want to admit they're famous. I'm a hard worker, I'm a grafter. If that has led to a certain level of fame, then I'll wear it – 'Yeah, I am bloody famous!'"
