Miranda Cosgrove's new Netflix romantic comedy, The Wrong Paris, has shot to the top of the streaming platform's film chart in the UK, beating recent releases such as The Thursday Murder Club and KPop Demon Hunters.
The film, released on Friday 12th September, stars the iCarly actress as Dawn, an ambitious small-town artist who signs up for a dating show set in Paris, only to discover she has been duped and sent to Paris, Texas – less than an hour from her hometown. Despite her determination to leave, she is won over by the rich, single cowboy Trey McAllen, played by Pierson Fodé.
Fans have praised the film, with hundreds of five-star Google reviews. One viewer described it as 'the best rom-com I have seen in a very long time', while another said it 'took me away for a couple of hours after a long work week' and left them feeling 'thoroughly entertained'.
On social media, one fan called it 'actually such a good romcom', and another declared it 'the best Netflix romcom since Set It Up' in 2018.
