Ant McPartlin vows to 'curb swearing' after being told off at home by wife
Ant McPartlin admits he must 'curb swearing' at home

Television favourite Ant McPartlin has confessed he is actively trying to cut out a bad habit at home after repeatedly being reprimanded by his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett.

Podcast Debut Reveals Home Resolution

The revelation came during Ant and Dec's first-ever podcast appearance on Fearne Cotton's Happy Place show, which was recorded on January 19. Host Fearne Cotton, introducing the duo as "podcast virgins," explained the relaxed format had "no rules" and even jokingly invited them to swear.

However, Ant declined. His presenting partner, Declan Donnelly, clarified that this reluctance was directly tied to a personal resolution. Ant, who shares a 19-month-old son named Wilder with Anne-Marie, explained the domestic motivation behind his decision.

'I Have to Curb It'

"I'm getting told off a lot for swearing a lot in the house," Ant admitted on the podcast. He elaborated, stating his toddler was now at an age where "all his words are starting to come slowly," making it imperative to watch his own language.

"So I have to curb the swearing," he stated firmly. Addressing Fearne's offer directly, he added, "What I'm not going to do, Fearne, is start swearing on a podcast. Yeah, so I need to... curb it."

Cotton revealed the podcast's liberal policy by noting they often leave in strong language, including the "C-bomb," which astonished the Geordie presenters. She encouraged them to feel free to express themselves, but Ant conceded that while he was trying, his resolve might weaken if he got too "animated."

Contrasting Bedtime Routines

The conversation offered another glimpse into the stars' off-screen lives, echoing a rare insight they gave in November on 'I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked'. When quizzed about their nightly routines by hosts Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers, a clear contrast emerged between the two friends.

Ant, referencing life with baby Wilder, confessed to a late bedtime. "Probably about midnight. It's late with a baby," he said, blaming his inability to stop a TV box set once he's started.

Dec, father to Isla and Jack with his wife Ali Astall, painted a very different picture. "It's about nine o'clock," he said, describing a routine of dinner, sofa time, and then moving upstairs to watch the news in bed. Ant humorously jabbed that this early, news-watching schedule was a "very Dec thing to do."

Despite their differing home lives, the episode solidified that even national treasures like Ant McPartlin are not immune to being told off by their partners, especially when trying to set a good example for their young children.
