Susan Boyle Unable to Sing for Four Years After Stroke

Susan Boyle has revealed she has been left unable to sing and speak properly after suffering a stroke four years ago. The Britain's Got Talent star, 65, who rose to fame in 2009 with her rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream," has been undergoing speech therapy and vocal lessons to regain her abilities.

Stroke Impact and Recovery

Opening up about her health, Boyle said: "I have had a lot of speech therapy. It was difficult at first, but after the first few weeks, my voice slowly started to come back. I have been having a lot of vocal lessons, too, for my singing. It still needs some work, but I am sure my singing voice will come back."

Speaking to The Sun, she added: "I am taking wee baby steps. If you go too fast, too soon, you go down a hole. It took a while for my confidence to come back with my music. But I am getting there. Slowly."

Return to the Recording Studio

Despite her health setback, Boyle, who was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome in 2012, has returned to the recording studio. However, her relaunch is not for a new album but as the face of a new ice cream ad campaign for Cornetto. She recorded a dance-heavy reimagining of the brand's jingle, titled "Just One Cornetto (reMAXed)."

Boyle said: "I was nervous going back into the recording studio, aye. I hadn't sung for ages. But when I was there, I felt as though it was where I belonged. I missed it so much."

Famous Fans and Support

Boyle has received support from celebrities including Katy Perry and Timothée Chalamet. Perry commented on Boyle's Instagram: "I dreamt this dream," while Chalamet gifted her a Marty Supreme jacket last year. Boyle also attended Oasis concerts and maintains an active social life in Scotland.
