Fans Demand Refunds After Legally Blonde Musical Reduced to 'Rehearsal' Due to Illness

Furious fans are demanding refunds after Legally Blonde: The Musical in Milton Keynes was replaced by a scaled-back 'concert' version due to cast illness. Audience members, who paid up to £70 per ticket, expressed their anger on social media, describing the performance as a 'rehearsal' where cast members sat on chairs and read from scripts.

One fan commented: 'All love and respect for the cast doing their very best, but this is poor from the company who definitely should've postponed instead of trying to hold on to the money.' Another added: 'No staging, no costume changes, no props, no dogs and hardly any dancing. We paid £70 each so will be asking for a refund.'

The production has faced further unrest, with Strictly's Amber Davies and Hannah Lowther denying claims of a behind-the-scenes feud. A performance on Thursday was cancelled due to illness, and a video on TikTok showed a show boss explaining that the company had worked through the night to deliver a 'fantastic version' despite widespread illness.

Some defended the show, noting the cast's efforts under difficult circumstances. One theatregoer said: 'They’ve got a duty of care to look after their employees and most of them are ill, they’re just trying their damn best.' The Mirror has contacted the production company for comment.
