Trump Resurfaces After Week-Long Absence Amid Health Concerns

President Donald Trump made a surprise public appearance at the Oval Office on Wednesday after nearly a week without any public engagements, sparking renewed health concerns. The 79-year-old president appeared to conceal a bruised hand, and social media users expressed alarm over his wellbeing.

Prior to Wednesday, Trump had not been seen since a Cabinet meeting on 27 May, just one day after a several-hour visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center—his third such trip in a year. He will turn 80 on 14 June.

Online observers noted signs of fatigue and weakness. One user wrote, 'He looks like he's going to pass out,' while another commented on his 'weakening voice' and 'puffy face.' Independent reporter Aaron Rupar posted, 'There is something gravely wrong with the president's health and the White House is covering it up.'

The White House has dismissed concerns. In a memorandum on Friday, Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, Trump's physician, stated the president 'remains in excellent health' with 'strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.' However, medical experts have questioned the report's completeness. Texas vascular surgeon William Shutze told The Wall Street Journal, 'That report is almost too good to be true for somebody of his age. This seems to be a filtered narrative.'
