Joachim Low Dismisses Ghana Job Rumours Ahead of England Clash

Joachim Low has denied reports that he is in talks to become the new head coach of the Ghana national team. The German, who led his country to World Cup glory in 2014, told Sky Sports in Germany: 'No one from Ghana has officially spoken to me.'

Reports in Ghana had suggested that Low was close to signing a short-term deal worth €150,000 (£131,000) per month. However, the 66-year-old has now set the record straight, stating that no official contact has been made.

Ghana dismissed Otto Addo last week after four consecutive defeats left the Black Stars ranked 74th in the world. The Ghana Football Association confirmed the decision in a statement, thanking Addo for his contribution and wishing him well.

Low has been out of management since 2021 but recently admitted he is ready to consider new opportunities. Speaking to Kicker last year, he said: 'I wasn't really interested in returning. However, now I'm ready to consider opportunities that leave a good impression.'

Ghana are in Group L for this summer's World Cup, alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. Their opening match is against Panama on June 18, followed by a clash with Thomas Tuchel's England side on June 23.
