A teenage boy has become the tenth person to die in open water during the UK's record-breaking heatwave, with his body recovered from a pond in Kent.
Incident Details
Police and fire crews were called to Galley Hill Road in Swanscombe at 2.55pm on Wednesday following reports of concern for a swimmer in the pond. A search and rescue operation was launched, but the teenager's body was later recovered.
Investigation
His death is not being treated as suspicious at this time. A report is being prepared for the coroner, and authorities have urged the public to exercise caution when swimming in open water during the ongoing heatwave.
