Exclusive: Property Expert Details 'Huge Costs' of Andrew's New Home and Two Reasons Fergie Could Move In
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Prince, has reportedly settled into his new residence at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate, with property experts revealing the substantial expenses involved in the move and speculating about a potential reunion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
Six-Figure Renovations and Security Upgrades at Marsh Farm
According to Elliot Castle, CEO of We Buy Any Home, the renovations at Marsh Farm likely incurred costs running into the six-figure range. The property, which Andrew moved into during Easter, underwent extensive modernisation, including the installation of a new security fence, CCTV cameras, carpets, blinds, and Sky TV. Castle emphasised that updating a rural property to such a high standard, particularly with structural updates and premium security features, is not a cheap endeavour, especially within an estate setting.
"From a property perspective, this looks far more like a managed family arrangement than a typical move," Castle stated. "Marsh Farm appears to have been prepared specifically for Andrew, with privacy and security front of mind, so it’s unlikely to be a short-term stop." He added that with this level of investment, Andrew is likely to settle permanently at Marsh Farm, even if it lacks the status of his previous home, Royal Lodge.
Potential Reunion with Sarah Ferguson: Security and Routine Factors
Elliot Castle highlighted two key reasons why Sarah Ferguson, Andrew's ex-wife, might join him at Marsh Farm: security and routine. With reports suggesting Sarah is "effectively homeless" following her departure from Royal Lodge, Castle noted that it would not be unusual from a property standpoint for former partners to share a living arrangement under such circumstances.
"As for Sarah Ferguson, it wouldn't be unusual from a property standpoint for former partners to share a living arrangement, especially where security and routine are involved," he explained. "Whether she joins him is personal, but it’s certainly feasible. Her ability to live there would depend on the nature of Andrew’s occupation and whether consent is required."
Background: Andrew's Move and Royal Scrutiny
Andrew's relocation to Marsh Farm comes after King Charles initiated the formal process to remove his brother's remaining royal titles and honours, and Buckingham Palace served notice for him to surrender his lease on Royal Lodge. This action followed years of intense scrutiny over Andrew's connections to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, though Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Previously, Andrew shared Royal Lodge with Sarah Ferguson, who has been absent from public view for several months since alleged emails between her and Epstein surfaced in the US Department of Justice's Epstein files. A representative for Sarah claimed that some of these emails were sent under pressure and do not reflect her true feelings, noting that being mentioned in the files is not evidence of wrongdoing.
New photos from April 6 show Andrew walking his dog near Marsh Farm, indicating he is becoming familiar with his new surroundings. The property expert's insights suggest that this move marks a significant shift in Andrew's living arrangements, with potential implications for his future and that of his ex-wife.
