A new luxury sleeper train service, drawing inspiration from the legendary Orient Express, is set to launch this autumn, offering an opulent five-day journey from Rome to Istanbul. Operated by Accor's La Dolce Vita Orient Express, the train will depart on 22 October, marking a revival of glamorous transcontinental rail travel.
Route and Stops
The itinerary includes stops in Venice, Budapest, and a scenic passage through the Carpathian Mountains in Romania before arriving in Istanbul. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore these historic cities during scheduled stops, blending rail travel with cultural immersion.
Onboard Experience
The train comprises 31 cabins, ranging from deluxe cabins to spacious suites. Interiors, designed by Dimorestudio, evoke a 1960s Italian aesthetic with rich fabrics, polished wood, and vintage-inspired details. Dining is overseen by a three-Michelin-starred chef, offering gourmet meals prepared with local ingredients.
Pricing
Prices start at €34,000 (£29,000) for single occupancy. The top-tier suites cost over £47,000 for two people, including all meals and onboard amenities. The journey promises unparalleled luxury, with attentive service and elegant surroundings.
This new service revives the spirit of the original Orient Express, which famously connected Paris to Istanbul. The La Dolce Vita Orient Express aims to provide a modern yet nostalgic experience for discerning travelers seeking a unique adventure.
