Former Love Island star Jamie Jewitt has stunned fans by revealing a dramatic physical transformation, crediting a complete lifestyle overhaul for reversing a series of debilitating health issues.
From Health Struggles to Six-Pack Success
The 34-year-old reality TV personality, who found fame on the ITV2 show in 2017, took to Instagram to share a powerful before-and-after montage. The 'before' images, dated December 2020, showed Jamie with a noticeable beer belly. He candidly disclosed that at that time, he was suffering from gut issues, arthritis pain, low testosterone, and depression.
Jamie admitted he used humour to cope with his declining health and body image, but ultimately decided to make a change. The recent 'after' clip shows a radically different figure: a slim, gym-toned physique with a defined six-pack. He vowed to use his experience to help others facing similar struggles.
The Wake-Up Call That Sparked Change
In his post, Jamie challenged the notion that such ailments are an inevitable part of ageing. "Gut issues, aches and pains, joint problems, these things ARE NOT just a part of ageing," he wrote. "I fell for the same bulls*** making excuses for myself. I was miserable and getting worse. Mentally and physically." He now states he feels better than ever, with his joint pain, gut issues, and depression all gone.
The catalyst for this journey was a charity boxing match in October 2021 against fellow reality star Dan Osborne, which Jamie lost. He later confessed to The Sun that he was unprepared, overweight, and had drunk alcohol during training. "I lost my first boxing match which was a tough pill to swallow, but in hindsight I'm glad I did, I got what I deserved," he said, acknowledging it as the wake-up call he needed.
Balancing Fatherhood and Fitness
Jamie, who is married to fellow Love Island contestant Camilla Thurlow and is a father to three young children, said his health took a backseat after becoming a parent. His weight had crept up by five stone since his TV debut, resulting in a self-confessed 'dad bod'.
"Honestly my life changed most when I became a parent as I stopped putting myself and my health first," he explained. "Being a parent for the first time quick and easy foods are what I got used to choosing." The couple's children are daughters Nell (born October 2020) and Nora (born May 2022), and son Brodie (born May 2024).
Fans and famous friends flooded the comments section of his post with praise for his transformation, with messages like "Well done mate should be proud of yourself" and "Unreal work brother." Jamie's story stands as a testament to the profound impact that diet, exercise, and self-prioritisation can have on both physical and mental wellbeing.
