Lady Kitty Spencer Steals the Show at Monaco's Intergalactic Rose Ball
The annual Rose Ball in Monaco, one of the most anticipated events on the social calendar, kicked off the party season with a spectacular "Galaxy" theme this year. Held on 21 March at the Salle des Etoiles, the event was curated by creative director Christian Louboutin, a close friend of Princess Caroline of Hanover, and attended by over 800 high-profile guests, including royals and celebrities.
Royal Glamour and Celestial Fashion
Leading the glamorous charge was Lady Kitty Spencer, the eldest daughter of Earl Charles Spencer and niece of the late Princess Diana. She turned heads in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana dress from the Alta Moda collection, inspired by an 18th-century painting from the Louvre. The sleeveless, crystal-embroidered gown featured coral and pearl details, complemented by red feather accessories on her wrists, adding a splash of colour to the space-inspired ensembles.
Other royals in attendance included Princess Charlene of Monaco, who arrived in an ethereal silver Elie Saab gown with a cape design, and Prince Albert II, alongside Princess Caroline in a Chanel polka dot outfit. Princess Alexandra of Hanover also embraced the theme in a blue dress with a sheer overdress.
Star-Studded Guest List and Extravagant Entertainment
The guest list featured notable figures such as Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc and his wife Alexandra Saint Mleux, making their red carpet debut as a married couple. Swedish actress Victoria Silvstedt stunned in a metallic cut-out dress, while Christian Louboutin himself donned a quirky ensemble fitting the galactic vibe.
Entertainment for the night was eclectic, with performances from groups like the Rondò Veneziano, Crazy Horse dancers, the Moiseyev Ensemble, and Berlin-based Dulce Compania on stilts. British musician Leee John closed the event with funk and soul music, keeping guests dancing into the early hours with DJ Josh Quinton.
Lavish Dining and Charitable Cause
Guests enjoyed a gourmet menu including sweet white asparagus with caviar, turbot with spring vegetables, and guinea fowl pithivier. The highlight was a dessert by pastry chef Cedric Grolet: a rose-shaped chocolate mousse covered in tempered chocolate. The ball, with tickets priced at €1,800, raised funds for the Princess Grace Foundation, supporting humanitarian causes and the arts in honour of Grace Kelly.
A charity raffle offered prizes like a Dior tote bag and a stay at the Hotel de Paris, underscoring the event's blend of glamour and philanthropy. The Rose Ball continues to be a highlight of Monaco's social scene, combining fashion, entertainment, and charity in a truly unique setting.
