Reality star and former glamour model Katie Price has shared a touching moment with her eldest son, Harvey, as the pair baked a carrot cake together in her West Sussex home. The sweet YouTube video, posted on Monday, comes just weeks after Katie revealed the 23-year-old is preparing to move into his own independent living flat.
A Special Baking Session
In the clip, watched by her 366,000 subscribers, a cheerful Katie, 47, guided Harvey through the process of making his favourite treat. "Harvey loves me doing anything with him, especially making cakes," she explained to the camera. The mother-son duo carefully mixed ingredients before Katie placed the cake in the oven at their swanky converted barn near Horsham.
Katie noted that while she had used a packet mix this time, Harvey usually enjoys the full process of combining flour, butter, and sugar. Once baked, they decorated the cake together with Betty Crocker icing, with Harvey proudly holding up the finished product for a photo.
Fans Celebrate Their 'Amazing Bond'
Viewers were quick to flood the comments section with praise for Katie's parenting. Many highlighted her patience and the evident strong connection between mother and son. "You’re so patient with Harvey. He seems so much more calm than previous years. Fabulous baking Mr Harvey Price," wrote one follower.
Others added, "You have such an amazing bond Katie x," and "She is an amazing mom to Harvey!" The positive response underscored the public's affection for Harvey, who faces significant daily challenges.
Harvey's Journey to Independence
This heartwarming domestic scene follows a significant announcement on Katie's podcast, The Katie Price Show, earlier this month. She revealed that Harvey, who has recently graduated from a specialist college, is set to move into his own flat in a supported living facility by the end of the month.
"He should be moving at the end of this month, it's going to be 15 minutes away. I can't wait," Katie said. She is personally kitting out his new home, having already purchased a green Smeg kettle and toaster, new plates, a sofa, and a bed, aiming to create a "home from home" for him.
Harvey lives with a complex set of conditions, including Prader-Willi syndrome—a genetic disorder causing a constant feeling of hunger—as well as autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD, and oppositional defiant disorder. His move to a specialist independent living facility represents a major and carefully managed step forward for his care and personal development.
The baking video serves as a poignant snapshot of their cherished family time before this new chapter begins, highlighting the normal, joyful moments amidst their unique journey.
